Bedouin Paths

Hiking Tours

Bedouin Paths provides an all-inclusive hike so that you do not need to worry about additional costs. The hike includes ALL of the following:

  • * All accommodation while in Katherine
  • * All hiking accommodation in the Bedouin huts during the hike
  • * All food and drink (except alcohol – bring your own)
  • * All Tour Leader and Tour Guide costs
  • * All camel driver and chef costs
  • * All equipment and support items (bedding etc)
  • * All transport during the hike

Prices are per person and for a minimum of 2 people.

If your group is 5 or more people then you can choose your own date, simply email and tell us your requirements. Please remember that it can get very cold at night in the mountains (especially during winter) and although we endeavor to provide shelter you will need a 4 seasons sleepingbag and warm clothes.


Please note: In groups of less than 5 people, there will be a 75 GBP surcharge incured per person.

Desert Hike

7 days from 575 GPB

The 7 day desert hike starts you off in the footsteps of Moses; the route into the wilderness, the rock where he made water flow and of course Mt Sinai itself. You will trek through the wonders of the Blue Desert, sleep under the stars and spend time with the Bedouin. The hike is more popular during the spring and autumn since it can get too hot during the summer (although you can always hop on a camel if you tire of walking).

Mountain Hike

Bedouin Paths is aptly named since it is the paths of the Bedouin you will be travelling; through their mountain kingdom. The 7 day hike covers stunning landscapes, the highest mountain in Egypt (Mt Katherines), beautiful Bedouin gardens, mountain pools where you can swim and the most extraordinary rock formations you have ever seen. The Bedouin will take care of you the whole way and the hikes are taken all year round.

Mountain to Sea Hike

This 10 day hike takes you from the majesty of the high mountain region and the summit of Mt Sinai to the blue and warm waters of the Red Sea. On the way you will visit ancient ruins, Bedouin settlements, vast sand dunes and the most extraorinary vistas you will have ever seen. You will trek a distance of some 110km, bit don't worry if you get tired; there will be a camel to hop on to if needed. Once at the coast, you will swim, snorkel and relax in the sun.

Combo Hike

This 7 day hike is one of our most popular since it allows the hiker to enjoy both the stunning mountains as well as the serenity of the desert. You start in St Katherines and spend 3 nights in the mountains, travelling through wadis and Bedouin gardens; ending up at the El Karm eco-lodge. From here we take you to the desert oasis of Ein Hodra where you will spend a couple of nights under the stars in the desert and explore incredible canyons carved out of solid rock by ancient waters.

Bedouin Culture Hike

Welcome to the world of the Bedouin. You will spend 10 days learning about their culture and way of life. You will go to camel school and learn how to saddle, mount and control a camel. You will learn how to make fire, cook fresh bread and determine what herbs to use for a fine cup of tea. You will learn about how the Bedouin care for their gardens and also help in rebuilding their huts and walls. You will also hike in the mountains, sleep under the stars and gaze upon the best views in all of Egypt. We guarantee that this is a genuine one-in-a-lifetime experience. After that you may like to spend 4 days by the warm waters of the Red Sea coast in Dahab.
